ThoughtForDay - July 9 []

July 9

Quick Thought:

Your hand (O Lord) will find all Your enemies; your right hand will find those who
hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; the LORD
shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them. Psalm 21:8-9

Mark 8:13-21
And leaving them, He (Jesus) again embarked and went away to the other side. And
they had forgotten to take bread; and did not have more than one loaf in the boat
with them.
And He was giving orders to them, saying, "Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees and the leaven of Herod." And they began to discuss with one another the
fact that they had no bread.

And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you discuss the fact that you have
no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart? Having
eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember,
when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken
pieces you picked up?" They said to Him, "Twelve."
"And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of
broken pieces did you pick up?" And they said to Him, "Seven." And He was saying
to them, "Do you not yet understand?" Mark 8:13-21 (NAS)

John 2:1-11
And on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus
was there; and Jesus also was invited, and His disciples, to the wedding.
And when the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine."
And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet
come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it."

Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification,
containing twenty or thirty gallons each. Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots
with water." And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, "Draw some
out now, and take it to the headwaiter." And they took it to him.

And when the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know
where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter
called the bridegroom, and said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and
when men have drunk freely, then that which is poorer; you have kept the good wine
until now." This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested
His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. John 2:1-11 (NAS)
