Beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise,
as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should
perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9 (NKJ)
And He (Jesus) was saying to them, "Truly I say to you, there are some of those
who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the kingdom of God
after it has come with power."
And six days later, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John, and brought them
up to a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them; and His
garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten
And Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.
And Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and
let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
For he did not know what to answer; for they became terrified.
Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This
is My beloved Son, listen to Him!" And all at once they looked around and saw no
one with them anymore, except Jesus alone. Mark 9:1-8 (NAS)
After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there
He was spending time with them and baptizing.
And John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there;
and they were coming and were being baptized.
For John had not yet been thrown into prison. John 3:22-24
