Mark 12:1-9
And He (Jesus) began to speak to them in parables: "A man planted a vineyard, and
put a wall around it, and dug a vat under the wine press, and built a tower, and
rented it out to vine-growers and went on a journey. And at the harvest time he
sent a slave to the vine- growers, in order to receive some of the produce of the
vineyard from the vine- growers. And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away
empty-handed.

"And again he sent them another slave, and they wounded him in the head, and treated
him shamefully. And he sent another, and that one they killed; and so with many
others, beating some, and killing others.

"He had one more to send, a beloved son; he sent him last of all to them, saying,
'They will respect my son.' But those vine-growers said to one another, 'This is
the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours!' "

"And they took him, and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. What will
the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vine-growers, and will
give the vineyard to others." Mark 12:1-9 (NAS)

John 6:41-51
The Jews therefore were grumbling about Him (about Jesus), because He said, "I am
the bread that came down out of heaven." And they were saying, "Is not this Jesus,
the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does He now say, 'I have
come down out of heaven'?"

Jesus answered and said to them, "Do not grumble among yourselves. No one can come
to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last
day."

"It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Everyone
who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. Not that any man has seen
the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. Truly, truly,
I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.

"I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they
died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it
and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats
of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread also which I shall give for
the life of the world is My flesh." John 6:41-51 (NAS)
