Quick Thought:

"For consider Him (Jesus) who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself,
lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to
bloodshed, striving against sin." Hebrews 12:3-4 (NKJ)

Luke 23:8-12
Now Herod was very glad when he saw Jesus; for he had wanted to see Him for a long
time, because he had been hearing about Him and was hoping to see some sign performed
by Him.

And he questioned Him at some length; but He answered him nothing. And the chief
priests and the scribes were standing there, accusing Him vehemently.

And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed
Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate.

Now Herod and Pilate became friends with one another that very day; for before they
had been at enmity with each other. Luke 23:8-12 (NAS)

Luke 4:38-44
And He (Jesus) arose and left the synagogue, and entered Simon's home. Now Simon's
mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever; and they made request of Him on her
behalf. And standing over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately
arose and waited on them.

And while the sun was setting, all who had any sick with various diseases brought
them to Him; and laying His hands on every one of them, He was healing them. And
demons also were coming out of many, crying out and saying, "You are the Son of
God!" And rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him
to be the Christ.

And when day came, He departed and went to a lonely place; and the multitudes were
searching for Him, and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from going away from them.

But He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also,
for I was sent for this purpose." And He kept on preaching in the synagogues of
Judea. Luke 4:38-44 (NAS)
