Deuteronomy 30:19-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
19 "I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,
20 by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them."
Some Christians are waiting for God to come into their lives and miraculously fix all their problems. Did you know that God has already done everything He is ever going to do about your problems. It happened on the Cross. You have been redeemed. You have the blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is inside of you. You are no longer under the curse. You have come under the promises of Abraham. In fact, you have a New Covenant with better promises. God has provided you with everything you need to live an abundant life overflowing with goodness and mercy. It is up to you to walk out the promises you have in God.
Hebrews 11:33-35 New International Version (NIV)
33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection.
These people did not wail, cry, and plead with God. They believed what God had said. They stood firm on what God had promised them and God delivered them. God was not moved by their emotional outcry. God was moved because they took God at His word. They heard the Word. They believed the Word. They acted on the Word. They were not moved by the circumstances. They were moved only by what God had said. Once God spoke that was it and they did not care about anything else. Even when circumstances threatened their life, they had a confident expectation that God's Word is the final authority in this world.
You have to make the choice. God has set before you life and death. Choose life. Choosing life is choosing to believe what the bible says about you instead of what the world has to say about you. When the world says, "You have cancer." you can say, "By His stripes I was healed." When the world says, "You will never get those bills paid." You can say, "I am abundantly supplied for every good work." When the world is saying, "Your kids will never amount to anything." You can say, "My kids are taught of the Lord and great is the peace of my children." So, choose life. Love God. Obey God. Cleave to God.
Speak the Word: Father, I choose life. I will speak your Word even when things get tough. I will not quit because I know you have made a way for me.
