Romans 12:2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

The worlds system of doing things is almost always the opposite of God's way of doing things. The world says "get your enemy before he gets you". God says "Love your enemy and pray for them". The world says "sleeping around is OK". God says "adultery is a sin". The world says "Save up for a rainy day" and God says "Give and it shall be given unto you".

Luke 6:38 King James Version (KJV)

38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Giving and sowing are the same thing. When you give something you have sowed it. A farmer sows seed so that he can receive a harvest. When you give financially you can expect to receive a harvest.

Galatians 6:6-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)

6 Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support].

7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.

8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

So don't grow weary and faint. Give when and where God asks you to give and you will reap an abundant, overflowing harvest!

Speak the Word: Father, I am not conformed to this world. I give when you tell me to give and I receive abundant liberal prosperity that overflows every area of my life.
