ThoughtForDay - April 29 []

April 29

Quick Thought:

"He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his
name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before
His angels." Revelation 3:5 (NKJ)

Matthew 24:32-42
"Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender,
and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; even so you too, when you
see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

"Truly I (Jesus) say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these
things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,
but the Father alone. For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days
of Noah. For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
they were marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so shall
the coming of the Son of Man be.

"Then there shall be two men in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left.
Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left.
Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming."
Matthew 24:32-42 (Jesus answering the disciples question about the destruction of
the temple and the second coming -- NAS)

1 John 1:5-10
And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is
light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie
and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the
light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses
us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not
in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 1:5-10 - (John speaking to Christians -- NAS)
