Matthew 23:23-26
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and
cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy
and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting
the others. You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the
cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.

"You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that
the outside of it may become clean also." Matthew 23:23-26 (Jesus speaking to the
religious leaders of that time - the scribes and Pharisees--NAS)

Isaiah 12:1-6
Then you will say on that day, "I will give thanks to Thee, O LORD; for although
Thou wast angry with me, Thine anger is turned away, and Thou dost comfort me.

"Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the LORD God is
my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. Therefore you will joyously
draw water from the springs of salvation."

And in that day you will say, "Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known
His deeds among the peoples; make them remember that His name is exalted.

"Praise the LORD in song, for He has done excellent things; let this be known throughout
the earth. Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your
midst is the Holy One of Israel." Isaiah 12:1-6 (NAS)
