Quick Thought:
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have
grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For
our God is a consuming fire." Hebrews 12:28-29 (NKJ)

Luke 23:50-56
And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a member of the Council, a good and righteous
man (he had not consented to their plan and action), a man from Arimathea, a city
of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God; this man went to Pilate and
asked for the body of Jesus.
And he took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb cut
into the rock, where no one had ever lain.
And it was the preparation day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. Now the women
who had come with Him out of Galilee followed after, and saw the tomb and how His
body was laid.
And they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the Sabbath they rested
according to the commandment. Luke 23:50-56 (NAS)

Luke 7:29-35
And when all the people and the tax-gatherers heard this, they acknowledged God's
justice, having been baptized with the baptism of John.
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected God's purpose for themselves, not having
been baptized by John.
"To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?
They are like children who sit in the market place and call to one another; and
they say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge,
and you did not weep.'"
"For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say,
'He has a demon!' The Son of Man has come eating and drinking; and you say, 'Behold,
a gluttonous man, and a drunkard, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners!' Yet wisdom
is vindicated by all her children." Luke 7:29-35 (NAS)
