2 Timothy 1:7 New King James Version (NKJV)
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Fear does not come from God. Fear is a tool of the devil. It is something that keeps men and women in bondage. It will put limits on your life. It sets up boundaries to stop you. The Lord may be asking you to share Jesus with your neighbor. Fear will stop you from talking to him or her. Satan uses fear to try to stop people. Satan wants to stop you from fulfilling the call of God on your life.
Love has the power to demolish fear. God's love for you will eradicate fear in your life. Love doesn't just mask fear. It eliminates fear. Have you ever had a time in your life when you where afraid and you didn't let fear stop you? The fear was still there but you did it any way. Maybe you were jumping off the high dive for the first time. You determined in your heart that you would jump off of that diving board. But as you got closer to the end of that board and you began to see how far down it was fear would creep up on you. It was trying to overtake you. But you pushed on through it anyway and jumped off the board. When you push through fear like that you have not eliminated fear you have simply masked it or dominated it. Love doesn't do that.
1 John 4:18 Amplified Bible (AMP)
18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love's complete perfection].
You see mature love casts out the fear. Love does not tolerate fear at all.
Romans 8:31 New International Version (NIV)
31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
God is for you. You have nothing to fear. So rest. Rest in God's love for you.
Speak the Word: Father, I will not fear. God is for me. I have nothing to fear, because the love of God surrounds me from the crown to the ground.
