Quick Thought:

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and
giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that
we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy
2:1-2 (NKJ)

Matthew 8:14-17
And when Jesus had come to Peter's home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in
bed with a fever. "And He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose,
and waited on Him.
And when evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and
He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill in order that what
was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, "He Himself took
our infirmities, and carried away our diseases." Matthew 8:14-17 (NAS)

1 Peter 3:7-13
But the present heavens and earth by His word are being reserved for fire, kept
for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one
fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward
you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away
with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth
and its works will be burned up.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought
you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of
the day of God, on account of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and
the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking
for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:7-13 (NAS)
