John 10:1 New International Version (NIV)

1 "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

There are a lot of voices out there calling us to do this or that. With television, radio, advertising, … we are constantly bombarded with all kinds of messages. Most of them are NOT from God. Most of them will lead you away from God.

All day long, day in and day out they tell us what we should drive, what we should wear, what we should eat, where we should live and more. But none of it will lead you to God. In fact, it will interfere your ability to hear God.

Do you want to hear God with greater clarity and accuracy? Spend time with God. Spend time every day in prayer and reading the word. Spend quiet time where you can meditate on the things God has said in the Word. Get away from all of the noise and distraction of this life and devote some time everyday to God. Before you know it you will be hearing from God with laser like accuracy.

When you have the urging on the inside check it out. Judge it by the Word of God. If this urging lines up with the Bible and you believe that it is from God then go with it. Learn to distinguish the voice of God from all of the other voices in this life. As you practice following God you will find the power of God operating in your life.

Speak the Word: Father I spend time with you every day. I listen for you to lead and guide me. When I believe it is you, I obey.
