DAILY DEVOTIONAL

July 26

Isaiah 54:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

10
For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.

You have a covenant with God. A covenant is a binding legal agreement between two parties. When you sign a contract, you enter a covenant. Christians entered a covenant with God when they accepted Jesus. Our covenant gives us certain rights and privileges.

Hebrews 8:6 New International Version (NIV)

6
But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.

The covenant that Christians have is superior to the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant promised that you would be healthy, wealthy, and wise. We have inherited the promises made under the Old Covenant, and those promises are ministered to us through Jesus.

Galatians 3:29 New International Version (NIV)

29
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Let's look at some of the promises that were made under the old covenant.

Deuteronomy 28:11-12 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

11
"The LORD will make you abound in prosperity, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.

12 "The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Speak the Word: Father, you made a covenant long before I was born. Your covenant promises that I will be healthy, wealthy, and wise. Father, I receive the promises you made in our covenant.
